We took Alexander and Cooper to Snackville Junction for lunch yesterday. This is a diner-style restaurant with a model train that brings the food to you. 
It was a delight for the boys just as it was for my sons when they were young. Their grandparents, Nani and Pops took all the kids there for lunch. Of course, Jason and Jon loved trains just as Xander does, so that made it really special for them.
This is a really great idea for a children's party. You could set up a short buffet table with a track and train with baskets as part of the decor. You wouldn't even have to make it run. A separate train for them to actually play with would work.
I'm off to buy table linens to paint on.
